Essential oils - Peace and Calming

 


This is a stressful time of the year, with school starting, a working family, and school sports.  It is easy to get stressed out, especially with today’s society.  Don’t worry I’m going to tell you how to combat that stress and discover peace, through essential oils.

A way for you to find or create a peaceful mood or atmosphere is through aromatherapy.  Diffusing the right essential oils can help you to promote positive emotions.  Per loving essential oils, “peace and calming oil blends can help to reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being. There are a number of peace and calming diffuser blends that you can use to help you relax and de-stress.”



Here are some of the individual oils and some information I’ve found about them, that are used for Peace and Calming:  

Bergamot - has an aroma of Sweet, fruity.  It mixes well with Lavender, Nutmeg, Citrus Oils.

Cypress - has an aroma of Sweet balsamic, warm tones of pine/juniper.   It mixes well with Cedarwood, Citrus Oils, Clary Sage, and Ylang Ylang oils.

Frankincense - has an aroma of Mild camphor and citrus.  It mixes well with Balsam Fir Needle, Myrrh, Orange, and Sandalwood oils. 

Geranium - has an aroma of Subtly sweet, floral.  It mixes well with Clary Sage, Peppermint, and Rose oils. 

Juniper Berry - has a floral aroma. It mixes well with Cypress, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, and Sage oils.

Lavender - has an aroma of Floral.  It mixes well with Lemongrass, Peppermint, Marjoram, and Tea Tree oils. 

Lemon - has an aroma of Fresh lemon peel.  It mixes well with Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Lavender oils.  

Lime - has an aroma of Fresh citrus lime.  It mixes well with Citrus Oils, Sage, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Clove oils.  

Melissa - has an aroma of Fresh, lemony, herbaceous, sweet.  It mixes well with Geranium, Lavender, Rose, Basil, Frankincense, Sweet orange, Citronella, Bergamot, Neroli, Ylang ylang, Petitgrain, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tangerine, Spikenard, Roman Chamomile oils.

Orange - has an aroma of Fresh, sweet orange peel.  It mixes well with Citrus Oils, Clove, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg oils.  

Patchouli - has an aroma of Musky, earthy.  It mixes well with Cedarwood, Geranium, Lavender, and Lemongrass oils.  

Sandalwood - has an aroma of Beautiful woodsy, sweet.  It mixes well with Rose, Lavender, and Vetiver oils. 

Spearmint - has an aroma of Refreshing minty.  It mixes well with Bergamot, Lavender, Lime, and Rosemary oils. 

Tangerine - has an aroma of Pleasant, orange-like.  It mixes well with Cinnamon, Citrus Oils, Nutmeg, and Vanilla oils.

Vetiver - has an aroma of Sweet, earthy, woody. It mixes well with Bergamot, Black Pepper, Patchouli, Rose Absolute, Sandalwood, and Ylang Ylang oils. 

White Fir - has an aroma of fresh, woody scent. It mixes well with Peppermint, Spearmint, and Wintergreen oils. 

Ylang Ylang - has an aroma of Pleasant, floral.  It mixes well with Citrus Oils, Clove, Jasmine, Patchouli, and Rose. 



Here are 10 simple diffusing blends for Peace and Calming:

Sweet Sanctuary - 3 drops Lavender, 3 drops Tangerine, 3 drops Bergamot

Perfect Peace - 3 drops Lavender, 3 drops Frankincense, 1 drop Lime

Totally Tranquil - 3 drops Patchouli, 2 drops Cypress, 2 drops Bergamot

Merry Meditation - 3 drops Frankincense, 2 drops Patchouli, 1 drop Melissa

Easy Going - 3 drops Grapefruit, 2 drops White Fir, 2 drops Frankincense

Carefree - 3 drops Lavender, 2 drops Patchouli, 1 drop Ylang Ylang

Serene Space - 3 drops Juniper Berry, 3 drops Bergamot, 1 drop Vetiver

Gentle Night - 3 drops Lavender, 3 drops Orange, 2 drops Sandalwood

Mellow Mint - 3 drops Grapefruit, 3 drops Lemon, 2 drops Spearmint

Peaceful Heart - 3 drops Juniper Berry, 3 drops Orange, 2 drops Geranium


If you just want to try an individual oil and it don't have the number of drops to use, so remember to go by the number of drops your diffuser recommends and add them evenly up to the closest number that matches your diffuser

Always remember essential oils can never take the experience a medical professional has. With that being said, I’ll see you next week where I will continue with diffusing essential oils.
